About the House

The imprint, the author, and the long road.

The Imprint

Alourra Publishing was founded as a deliberate refusal of speed. The market for fantasy is loud and the pace of publication is unkind to books that need a few years to find their shape. We are small on purpose. We will publish slowly, with care, and only what we believe deserves to last.

Our editorial line: literary fantasy with interior depth. We do not avoid plot, but we are not interested in plot alone. We are interested in how a place changes the people who walk through it, what a name carries when it is the last one left, and the silences that fall between the words a character knows how to say.

We publish through the conventional channels but consider ourselves a craft house first. The cover, the typography, the paper — all of it is part of the book. We will not ship anything we would not want on our own shelf.

The Author

Alourra is founded and run as a self-publishing imprint by a single working author, with editorial and production support provided by The Workshop — the authoring system being built alongside the books. The author's catalog at present is The Last of Ryn Dvarek trilogy and the standalone The Still World.

Correspondence is welcome and answered slowly, in the order it arrives. Write to rogueaistudios@gmail.com.

On AI & The Workshop

We are open about it. Alourra uses AI — specifically, The Workshop — as an editorial and drafting tool. The author specifies premise, cast, arcs, voice, world, chapters, and beats; The Workshop helps carry the manuscript through draft and revision. Every chapter is reviewed, revised, and finalized by the author. No book leaves the House without the author's hands on every paragraph.

We believe the right phrase is human-authored, AI-assisted. The Workshop is the tool we wish we had — patient, skeptical, structured. It does not write the book. It helps the author finish the book they meant to write.
