Something has happened to the world. The wind has not blown in seventeen weeks. The tides have flattened. The bells in the high towers, struck at noon, refuse to ring. Birds will fly only if carried, and the gods — who were never reliable — have stopped answering altogether.

A small company sets out from the eastern coast to walk to a place that is rumored, in private, to still be moving. They are: a former priest who no longer prays, a child who has never spoken, a woman who used to know the weather, and a soldier who has not lifted a weapon since the stillness began.

The Still World is not a quest novel. The company will not save the world. The question of the book is what to do with a life when the conditions for living have quietly, irrevocably changed — and whether faith is a thing that can survive its own answers going silent.
